Boston Convention & Exhibition Center
Boston, Massachusetts, USATop 10 Tips
Make your experience exhibiting at New England Grows as rewarding and simple as possible. The following are ten tips to maximize the return on your investment, and to make the most of your valuable time:
1. To maximize your exposure before, during and after New England Grows make sure your company's online profile is complete at least two months prior to the show. This information will be downloaded for the on-site show program and is distributed to all attendees. Using this website, click on Exhibitor and choose the Update Online Profile tab at the top of the page; you'll need to have your password (this can be found on your booth space confirmation letter). If you forgot your password, please contact us at 508-653-3009.
2. Show Guide Advertising: reach thousands of decision-makers. New England Grows delivers the full potential of the region's thriving green industry. You will reach more than 13,000 customers by advertising in the New England Grows show guide. Distributed to everyone who attends the event, this publication serves as a valuable resource for a lucrative market of green industry decision-makers who use it as a reference tool all year long. So take advantage of our prime audience and expo presence to promote your product effectively. The advertising deadline is November 12, 2010.

3. Make hotel reservations and travel arrangements early. We recommend making accommodations as soon as you contract for your booth space. Please contact one of the official hotels and let them know you are booking for New England Grows, click here for details and discounted rates. Ignore any travel promotions from outside companies saying they are offering hotel specials for New England Grows. These are not valid; you should make your own arrangements and contact New England Grows with any questions or concerns.
4. Pre-register for your exhibitor badges. Each member of your company who attends the show will need an exhibitor badge in order to gain access to the show floor. All badges will be picked up onsite at Exhibitor Registration in the North Lobby. To register for your badges online, please click the Register Now button and choose Exhibitor Registration. Your password is the same one used for your Online Profile login. If you forgot your password, please contact us at 508-653-3009. As an exhibitor, you receive 3 complimentary exhibitor badges and 3 attendee guest tickets for EVERY 10x10 booth (100SF) you contract for.
5. Contact FREEMAN - the show's official general contractor and decorator. To order carpet, furniture and other items such as onsite storage and material handling, you will need to make arrangements with FREEMAN, please click here to visit online or call their Exhibitor Services at 781-380-7550.
6. Electricity is NOT included in your booth. To order the installation and electricity, please contact the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center at www.massconvention.com or call (617) 954-2230. Their Exhibitor Services department will assist you. To run electricity from the electrical box to a specific location in your booth (Cord Labor) can be done by you (the exhibitor) or by FREEMAN. If you plan on doing the cord labor yourself, please coordinate with FREEMAN to avoid them laying the carpet down first. Please click here to log in to your FREEMAN account. For questions about Cord Labor, please contact FREEMAN at 781.380.7550.
Make a good first impression! Your booth design and décor makes a difference to customers. To make the best impression to your target market and to protect your feet, a carpet is a must and can be brought in by yourself or rented through FREEMAN. A booth without carpeting looks very uninviting.
7. Save time and ship your freight. Take stock of the booth materials and samples you will need for the show and determine the best and most efficient way to ship them. You have several options:
Advance Shipping - WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU SHIP ALL OF YOUR FREIGHT (BOOTH MATERIALS & PRODUCT) IN ADVANCE TO AVOID LONG FREIGHT DELIVERY LINES.
By shipping freight in advance, you are guaranteed to meet your target delivery date and time, and can plan labor accordingly.
First day for Advance Booth Shipments to arrive at FREEMAN warehouse:
Monday, January 3, 2011.
Last day for Advance Booth Shipments to arrive at FREEMAN warehouse without surcharges: Thursday, January 24, 2011.
All freight shipped in advance will be delivered to the show floor on: Monday, January 31, 2011.

8. SMALL PACKAGE DELIVERIES (UPS, FEDEX, DHL, ETC.) - If shipping direct to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, your packages must arrive during the Direct Ship dates, January 31 – February 1. We recommend AM delivery, as these carriers may only make one drop per day. Please bring all tracking numbers with you. The Convention Center does not accept shipments of event-related freight or materials that are addressed directly to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. All of these items, whether shipped in advance or direct, must be addressed C/O and delivered to the official service contractor, FREEMAN. C.O.D. deliveries will not be accepted.
9. Plan your move-in accordingly. Traveling into Boston in February can be unpredictable, please keep in mind flight times, rush hours and your target move-in schedule when arriving. The Expo Hall opens on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Your booth MUST be show-ready by that date and time – there will be no exceptions.
10. Onsite Material Handling - Work rules require that the official material handling contractor off-load all equipment and display material from commercial carriers/common carriers or van lines. The use of fork trucks, pallet jacks and lift gates are permitted only by personnel of the official material handling contractor.
Exhibitors are allowed to perform their own material handling, provided they meet all of the following criteria: Personnel performing the work must be bona fide, full-time company employees of the exhibiting company; they must be off-loading from a company owned truck or rental vehicle, or from a car, van or truck owned by personnel of the exhibiting company; all trucks, including co-owned or rental vehicles over 24' in length will be off-loaded or loaded by FREEMAN; they may use only hand-operated equipment, which they have provided (two- wheeled hand trucks and four-wheeled flat trucks are permitted); the use of fork trucks, pallet jacks, lift gates or any other mechanical equipment is not permitted by anyone other than the official drayage contractor.
