The Massachusetts Department of Public Safety licenses and regulates the operation of hoisting equipment.  In September 2014, the department began to require that all Hoisting License holders complete Continuing Education for each grade of license held.  You must recertify every two years in order to maintain your Hoisting License in Massachusetts. GROWS brings the convenience of this new recertification requirement right to you.  Information covered includes Massachusetts regulations, proper equipment set up, jobsite safety, component recognition, introduction to hydraulic theory, inspection parameters, and more. Seating is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Women in Horticulture Networking Luncheon

Wednesday, February 4 (separate ticket $40.00 per person)
12:00 n - 1:30 p.m.
Connect with female colleagues during a special networking luncheon at GROWS.  In addition to great company, good food and a stellar view of Boston's waterfront, the gathering will feature a conversation with Taylor Johnston, horticulturist at Boston's Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum and founder of Gamine Co. -- a trade-inspired collection of beautiful work wear for women.

You'll be inspired by Taylor's story.  Like you, she believes in owning what you do and standing proud in representation of your trade. Join us as we celebrate the power and entrepreneurial spirit of women in horticulture.

Live Patio Build on Expo Floor!

Wednesday, February 4 & Thursday, February 5
Watch or join in as landscape construction students from the Thompson School at the University of New Hampshire build a raised permeable paver patio over the course of two days -- right on the expo floor. The intricate patio construction project will feature low voltage lighting, pillar kits and sitting walls, as well as granite hand chiseling and cutting. The instal- lation will also include a paver and SRW cleaning & sealing demonstration.

Instructor Bill Gardocki will highlight aspects of the build as it relates to installing hardscape projects per ICPI and NCMA industry accepted specifications in 60-minute presentations throughout the day. This exciting, live hardscape demonstration is sponsored by Techo-Bloc, Alliance Gator, Hulton Tool Company, Pave Tool, and Stateline Irrigation Supply.
