Recognized throughout the world as a master in stone work and landscape design, Lew French’s innovative artistic techniques have created a new understanding of how to use stone as a medium in the creation of functional and visual structures. A native of Minnesota, he has been living and designing with stones on Martha’s Vineyard for the last 35 years. His techniques and designs have become a subject introduced in college classrooms, stone workers’ seminars, architectural firm portfolios, and many other fields dealing with the art of building with organic materials.
