Dr. Drummond is an applied insect ecologist. He began his career as a Fruit Extension Specialist at the University of Massachusetts in 1980. Since then, he has worked for the state of Maine as an ecological statistician and at the University of Maine as a professor studying least toxic approaches to insect pest management in potato, vegetable, and small fruit production systems. He also has a large research program in pollination and bee ecology associated with lowbush blueberry landscapes. He received his M.S. in Entomology from Michigan State University and his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Rhode Island. He has published over 100 peer reviewed journal articles and more than 100 technical and Extension bulletins and Fact Sheets.
