Tony Avent is the owner of Plant Delights Nursery, Inc., a mail order nursery specializing in new and rare perennials. He founded his business in 1988 and has traveled extensively as an international plant explorer. Previously, he was a Raleigh, NC newspaper columnist, volunteer curator at the J.C. Raulston Arboretum, and landscape director at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. He earned his B.S. in Horticultural Science from North Carolina State University. Tony is the author of a book, So You Want to Start a Nursery. He has been featured in many national publications and has appeared in numerous television programs.
